What is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)?

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is an evidence based (backed by research) structured talking therapy which tackles one problem at a time and works on your current symptoms. It is proven to be effective for anxiety problems such as panic attacks, generalised anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, social anxiety, post traumatic stress, phobias, separation anxiety, sleep problems, depression and disordered eating. CBT aims to help you understand problematic relationships between your thoughts, feelings and behaviour by talking about them, in doing so, we hope to find out where your problem may have come from and what may be keeping you stuck now. Whilst CBT is a talking therapy, it is also a doing therapy where the usefulness or accuracy of thoughts, beliefs and predictions are challenged or tested out through use of experiments (behaviour change) to find out what happens. In doing so, we may discover new information that we may have previously been unaware of and a journey of self-discovery and hopefully, recovery begins. Are you curious to know more? Fees

I can provide individual one to one CBT therapy for your child or adolescent or for yourself through face to face appointments at an agreed location or by virtual methods such as secure video call, telephone call or instant messaging via Microsoft Teams. Face to face/online/telephone/chat therapy - £80 for a 50 - 60 minute appointment, 90 minute sessions are available for a fee of £110 per session. 

 

Fees are payable in advance of appointments by cash or bank transfer.
